yes, I have already voted by post. And have you forgotten the heady era of the three-day week?
And the winter of discontent was pretty cr@ppy. And then poor old Mr Major had his party torn apart by Europe and sleaze.

Not underestimating the current situation though is very bad.
No, I haven't. I don't think we've ever seen anything quite like this before. And yes, I will vote today.
I will vote, I always do. I think we tend to forget other occasions while we're caught up in the moment as it were. Politicians have short, selective memories.
With all the internal strife a bad result for Labour will be seized upon by those who wish to destabilise the government further. Labour are best when in opposition because like the trade unions need a cause to fight against and not to provide solutions.
Brixton Riots

Poll tax riots

Geoffrey Howe's attack on Margaret Thatcher

Nigel Lawson taking on George Soros and losing his shirt

Yes and yes

But not I think they way you'd like me to
In addition to Jake's post:

All his happened under a recent Prime Minister's reign. Very unfortunate or a Golden era, depending on your view.

I remember the strikes and power cuts of the 70's and the riots of the 80's. Personally, I believe those days were worse than today's problems.
Have already voted by post. I think it's vitally important, if we want to continue to live in a democratic country, that we exercise this right, even if we're not enamoured of many of the politicians who represent us. Don't vote? Then don't moan about the politicians you get.
You know whoever I used to think the same.

Then I decided that the only thing worse than not voting was an uninformed vote.

If you can't be bothered to find out what a party will do if elected you shouldn't vote.

The number of people who actually read party manifestos and vote by image or newspaper stories is depressing.

Similarly the number of people voting UKIP because of the "Corruption" of the big 3 is laughable - when 1/3 of their MEPs have been or are being prosecuted for criminal fraud!
profumo.....was that Christine Keeler & state secrets at Clivedon....they were good solubrious days ;)
Who cares??

Do you think when the Tories get in they will wave a magic wand and all politicians will be real human beings doing the job because they want to make a difference???
