Having said that, I'm a great advocate of freedom of speech, I detest political correctness, and I don't believe any political party should be banned. Rather than continue to create resentment by ignoring the indigenous population's fears, or by using the big stick of legislation to stifle their opinions, this government needs to look seriously at the underlying reasons for the BNP vote, and address people's concerns openly and honestly so they wouldn't feel compelled to elect extremist politicians. The BNP's success this time should be a stark warning to us all, and the reasons for their rise should be acknowledged. The prospect of them ever gaining any real foothold creates a frightening spectre for the future of this country.
