A convicted rapist is "sentenced" to community service, released back into society only to allegedly commit a similar offence only 8 days later.
Why was he not locked up?
Should society not be protected from perpetrators of serious crimes?

I believe there is a mimimun sentence of 5 years for rape so I guess you're not telling us the whole story.

Was he released after a lengthy term for rape and then got community service for a different offence?

With just a light sentence there must be extenuating circumstances. Did the woman lead him on and back out when he was aroused. There's a fine line between rape and consensual sex and with just 2 people involved who may be telling the truth?
