Scrappage allowance - going, going, gone?

France has just indicated that it is phasing out the scrappage allowance and here despite initial skepticism there has been a 10% take up of the allowance and sales have slowed their rapid decline

Looks like it might come to an end in October - so if youre looking to trade in that old banger now would be a good time.

A similar handout was given to house purchasers by removing stamp duty and sales there have climed out of the doldrums.
The lessons learned should therefore always be pitched at the purchaser if we want to come out of recession. I noticed in the press today a cashback scheme is being introduced for household CH boiler tradein. They could apply it to a number of items.
