Yes he didn't sound at all normal. He seems to think we will be rejoicing that he has found God and brought the girl and her children to a police station. No mention of the crime he had committed. Not sure I want to hear his not so wonderful story.

I feel so sorry for ther step dad too, and I heard them say he was still their number one suspect. Poor guy.

I just cant understand how neighbours so close to them didnt appear to know, bit different from the Austrian one where she was held underground but this family was in a tight row of homes.
Sad fact that we dont really know who our neighbours are sometimes.
Wouldnt happen in this street, there are two old biddies who almost look right in your windows all day lol, they miss nothing

Just appalling! I feel so much for the poor woman and wonder how she would even begin to get over something like this let alone come to terms with now being free from these 2 evil scumbags and be able to adjust.
A bitter sweet relief for the family I would think as they now all have to endure what has happened to her over the past 18 years, and then the 2 young children??? Just how do you start to explain?

I can't understand the neighbour asking her husbnad why they were all living in tents and he said that is the way they choose to live. I'd have been down at the police station startion reporting it.

I once read the true story of the girl who was kept in a box for years n years and finally got free (America) it was horrendous.

I know - where do these sickos find one another, there are plenty of cases where a couple is involved, not just a loner, how they manage meet one another is beyond me.

I think I remember her - he lived with his wife too and she acted like a slave. Think he had such a hold over her that he even took her to see her family and she didn't tell them.

Ended when he kidanapped another girl.

Sadly I think there are probably more stories like this yet to come to light.

I have just seen all the photographs in the newspaper, but it look as though the only block to freedom was a 6ft wooden fence.

Why didn't she just climb over it and run away?

She mustve been terrified or maybe restrained for some time and just too scared when eventually getting half a chance to escape.

She was a child when she was taken sqad - a child who was probably threatened until they could totally mould her into what they wanted - we have all read the stories of this type of thing before - and I think unless we are in that situation we can't possibly understand and we shouldn't judge. I feel very sorry for that poor girl her kids her mother and step father. Listening to that guy on the news he is a freak

at 11, she wouldnt completely understand what was happening, they couldve told her that her parents didnt want her any more - you just dont know. Maybe she thought that was her life now and that nobody cared.
