I was under the impression that if you wanted to leave your country of birth and claim asylum you did so in the first 'friendly'country you came to. Surely, then, we should only accept people from the Republic of Ireland or France.
Everyone else should be on the first one way transport out of this country. And stating that in no way labels me a racist. I understand that if you live in an 'unfriendly' country and you are entitled to a British passport then, of course, our front door should be open. However, we need to find a more effective way to keep the back door closed....an ideal impossible to maintain 100% of the time I know, but surely we should be able to keep it locked more of the time that at present.
