Another embarrassment for Gordon Brown as bereaved families only now receive letters of condolence from the Government - 2 years late!

Too busy filling out expense claims? I'll bet those weren't submitted 2 minutes late let alone 2 years?

Not more people using the death of their children to make cheap political points!

Quite disgraceful
Well presumably the Prime Minister is informed of the deaths by the MOD, so any criticisms should be levelled at them.
about half a million Britons died in WW2 - that averages out somewhere round 250 a day. Do you think Churchill spent his time handwriting 250 condolence notes every day?

And what do you think public reaction would have been if someone had gone to the papers protesting that his hadn't arrived?
Well said,jno.
These letters should be private and personal, everyone makes mistakes although the P.M should ensure that his secretary gets eveything right! I don't think Gordon Brown deliberately sets out to offend!
Speaking as somebody who is permanently angry about our current PM I cannot find reason to blame him for this at all.

Though he did say writing these letters is one of the most important things he does. Leading me to propose that we send him off to do this full time and leave the rest of us alone.
