A boy of 12 was hauled before a court after being charged with assault for throwing a cocktail sausage at an elderly man. The case has cost thousands already. Are cases like this a waste of court time and money?

  • It is typical of our justice system - everyone's time and money being wasted when there are much more serious cases to be dealt with - 451 votes
  • 35%
  • The scary experience of court will perhaps deter this boy from behaving badly however, their must be a cheaper way of doing this discipline and respect taught at home from parents perhaps - 448 votes

  • This boy is clearly a yob for throwing something at an elderly man. The court and police will hopefully have scared him into better behaviour making it neither a waste of time nor money - 244 votes

  • It is not a waste of time or money. This boy, no matter what his age, committed assault and he should pay the price. - 131 votes
