Here we go again, back on the latest MP's expenses outrage.

/// £2,700 to redecorate Brown's downstairs toilet ///

I find that rather expensive, he should have used Eastern European decorators, that way he would have got it much cheaper.

But then he always has been a 'man of his word' 'British jobs for British workers'.

All this again only a day after Darling has told us to 'tighten our belts'. When are some of the first lot to be found out, going to court?

Maybe his downstairs loo is the size of most people's living rooms.

Seriously though,it is an awful lot of money just for redecorating the loo.It only cost me about £150 to do my lounge last year but we didn't get someone else in to do it.

Do MP's actually buy anything out of their salaries?

What next Gordon Brown?
£310 shopping money for wife for week beginning 07/12/2009 (insert any future weekly date here)
£9.99 new Harry Potter DVD from ASDA
£43.89 Dr Who magazine subscription for nephew
£104.00 electric bill
£250 To ACME Massage Parlour in cash
£10 Children In Need
£12000 Ford Focus for wifes sisters aunties nephews brother's 22nd birthday
50p One poppy paid by cheque returned 'amount too low
£2.50 Bank charge cheque invalid

I may jest, but it's not far off the mark and really shows how the word expenses is a pseudonym for tax free salary top up.

The best news I have heard today is that no MP will be able to escape his repayment when he leaves the commons as it will be deducted.
Gordon Brown lives in a council house. I wonder if they spend that much on other such dwellings.
