Most politicians and world leaders earn FAR more many AFTER they have left power than before.
They get huge sums for writing their life story, are paid for speaking engagments, and are paid to be on the boards of various companies etc.
They also of course get a chance to stay "for free" at the holiday homes of the rich and famous (as Blair did when he was in power).
Unfortunately they inhabit a world way beyond what the likes of you or I could ever hope to reach.
It is not disgusting if this company feel he is worth that sort of money, it is their money to do what they want with.
It is the sad, stupid people who overpay for a "name brand" like Louis Vuitton that are lining his pocket.

It is not just Blair who is paid for his "services"
Just look what Tiger Woods has been paid by companies over the years.
He once signed at 5 years deal with Nike worth over 100 milion dollars.

You're right, VHG, but at least Woods' sponsors were able to use him in their ads, bolstering their own reputation by associating it with his (the latter now unfortunately in freefall). I don't know what LVC think they will get out of being mentored by Blair, unless they're planning on invading some oil-rich country and want some tips. Still, it is indeed their money. I do not intend to increase it; M&S carrier bags are good enough for me.
It's a ludidrous sum of money but its up to the company and their shareholders if they want to pay him that. Not sure what you expect him to do when he finishes being a 'public servant', how many people have bought memoirs from politicians or ex service personnel. If a nurse decided to write a book that went on to be a best seller would you begrude them if they made millions from it after all they too would be cashing in on their service.
As has been said above ; it's up to the company and their shareholders who they have on their payroll . ( i assume your'e not a shareholder )
If your feelings are that strong , then dont buy any of the companies products .
What I object to , is having to contribute directly to the wages of overated , so called ' celebreties' - as an example
