There seems to be a campaign in the print media for the removal of John Terry from the England captaincy.

Does his private life have anything to do with captaining England? Are the media guilty of trying to sabotage England's preparations?

There is a saying 'Let he without sin cast the first stone'. You can make your own deductions !
Does his private life have anything to do with captaining England?

Absolutely jack sh1t. He's a sportsman, it's not he went out to be in the public eye..
Personally, I believe this is the straw that breaks a rather forgiving camel's back. He needs to stand down now and concentrate on his domestic arrangements.

The newspapers are merely guilty of trying to sell more copy.........
In what parallel universe does anyone pay any attention to ...

... the Daily Mail or the Daily Telegraph ?
It doesn't matter what paper it's in cos it's on the news...
jj have you never ventured into the News topic before?
News? ... erm ... no, not really. Should I ?

Presumably the Daily Mail belongs in "Chatter" rather than News.
What's the difference then between his past actions, and Tiger Woods? both "transgressed", both sportsmen....
Not on a true parallel, but wasn't Tony Adams convicted and imprisoned for lawbreaking in 1991 and after release subsequently became England team captain?

On that basis why should John Terry's private life interefere with his sporting life?
What's more important? Football or women? I think we all know the answer. Roll on the World Cup.
boxtops....no difference. He should have been left alone as well.
of course Terry should go. He is not fit to be England captain Who the hell does he think he is ?

Just look at his record and his corrupt nature. England doesn't need his type as captain
it's about selling news papers and ratings.
From a captaincy point of view, taking back-handers for tours of Stamford Bridge is much worse than having a bit on the side.

A friend of mine said to me that when Beckham cheated with Rebecca Loos he let his wife and kids down, but when he got sent off against Argentina he let the whole country down.

As far as I am concerned if we win the World Cup, John Terry can do what he likes to whoever he likes.
Further to lilsecret's comment re Tony Adams, there was also Peter Shilton who faced allegations of an extramarital affair and a proven conviction for drink-driving. Later he too became England's captain. So what exactly is the difference between Tony Adams, Peter Shilton and John Terry? I am with ll_billym on this one.
ooops!!!!!! EKnewsDS post has been zapped
