I wonder how many years of my tax went to pay towards this scum who committed £80,000 of benefit fraud.

It does annoy me when honest people go to work and pay their tax, and scum like this, with houses worth hundreds of thousands (probably bought with benefit money), defraud the system.

He was paid £650 IN RENT as benefits. What sort of stupid country is this. He "forgot" he owned a house worth £400,000.

AND he already stole £60,000 in 1996, so did nobody think to check what he was being given now.

No wonder so many immigrants want to come here.

That should read

He was paid £650 IN RENT A MONTH as benefits
He should be made to pay double back or face prison, he can afford it.
well obviously all these people abroad read about British MPs and their expense accounts and think 'I could do that!'
"He and his wife are anxious that a custodial sentence may be imposed by the court and of the effect this will have on Mr Rauf's health and the impact on family life"

didnt he realise how bad an impact it would be after his previous 4 year sentence?

send him back. Id rather my taxes were spent on the prison hes in.

AND make him pay it back too!
Recently AOG posted a question asking why the number of responses had fallen so much recently.

I think it may be down to fatigue - it's just the same old immigrant rants every flipping day.

Come on...let's change the angle for a couple of days.

Give us breathing space for goodness sake!
Come on sp. You know that VHG would have rushed to complain about a fraudster like this who had an English name. It's just coincidence that this one is 'Asian'.Don't know whether he was born in Britain or whether he bought his £600,000 current worth of property by claiming benefits to which he was not entitled (if so the man's a criminal genius) or is just a normal businessman but one who indulges in dishonesty.VHG seems to think that he can be sure which it is.Who are we to doubt him in the absence of evidence?
/// it's just the same old immigrant rants every flipping day. ///

Now one knows that sp1814 does not like any posts that put our colonial friends in a bad light, no matter how serious their crime.
/// Scotland's deputy first minister Nicola Sturgeon asked the Sheriff to consider "alternatives to a custodial sentence" because he has already paid £27,000 of the outstanding balance to the DWP and will settle the remainder by selling property.///

Now let's be fair about this, she is only being fair minded about this, and only thinks that because MP's can get off so lightly it is only fair that others can also.

"Our colonial friends"?

Sorry - did someone just fling the Answer Bank back into 1875???

C'mon everyone - let's have a bit of balance for a couple of days - AOG...see if you can find any stories about soldiers getting drunk and going on the rampage.

Hang on!
sp1814, our soldiers are the finest in the world, unsurpassed, second to none in getting drunk and going on a rampage, and don't you forget it !
Why, getting drunk and going on a rampage with your comrades, when AOG was in the army, made them the men the are today. That's why should bring back conscription. Why should professional soldiers have all the fun/character building experiences ?
oh dear!

anyways... prison sentence or not, he will have to repay the full amount of the overpayment. hopefully the Proceeds of Crime Act has been brought in and he may well be subject to a confiscation order yet.
