What is this all about? Now we have a big climb down,( Daily Express) and I never believed those claims anyway, Does anyone remember the intrepid BBC reporter sitting in a rubber dinghy in the middle of the Arctic Ocean sans gloves hat scarf wearing an open necked shirt and jacket, with icebergs collapsing around him? That was in the middle of the Arctic summer, and the BBC were trying to convince us that the end of the world was nigh then. So the BBC had something to gain from flogging this nonsense. I have always believed it is the natural order of things in the universe. I bet the world leaders who met for the climate change discussions are feeling a bit stupid now.

Your are correct jake the insurance game is a scam, but we know we are going to die, its the timing of it thats the trick.
But climate change is a matter of being aware of the environment or being easily lead down a garden path because new measures of taxation have to be invented, & scaremongeri ng is the best treatment for a gullible public.
It was not that...

It is a bit early to believe the debunking of Climate change. The data from one lab in East Anglia is being re-scutinised. The whole Climate change theory does not come out of this one place, there are hundreds of other scientific establishments worldwide, that have data that supports Climate Change theory.
It is only right that the data is inspected and mistakes are admitted. The East Anglia Lab, may be guilty of bad housekeeping, but their scientific work has so far not been found wanting.

Big climb down? - 1 professor in Alabama?
Not seen the excess today but the Times had this one - touting the old (and roundly debunked) measurements are from built up areas (incidently they agree with satelite data )
And someone else saying the changes were all natural.
So once again the skeptics can't even get their story straight as to whether there is no warming or whether there is and it's natural.
Talking about wanting to have your cake and eat it a bit like arguing:
"No darling I wasn't unfaithful - but if I was it wasn't with your sister - and even if it was I didn't enjoy it"

The government profiting from something doesn't mean it isn't true.
Life insurance companies are a money making racket - you're still going to die!
Christie isn't really a conversion anyway - he's long been a critic - He actually produced the satelite data (with Roy Spencer) showing that the world wasn't warming as the ground based temperature measurements said.
Then he had to adjust the figures when people found out that they hadn't accounted for the slow decent that satelites suffer from atmospheric drag - and actually yes - they did agree.
But there is a conpiracy here - but on the skeptics - Who was behind the hacking at the University of East Anglia? that was a very professional job! - and all these sudden revelations picking at the edges of the climate science and exagerating their importance to the press?
Who exactly is paying for all of that?

Steve - this has been one of the warmest winters on record world wide
That's the Global bit in global warming
Unfortunately the problem is that "mother nature is not adapting" the sinks that remove carbon dioxide are not able to keep up with the production of it.
There is now 390ppm in the atmosphere whereas just 6 years ago it was 376ppm
In the last 10 years it went up 2ppm per year which is 40% up on the rate of climb in the 90s
So no Mother nature is not coping
Natural causes? where? Has there been a rapid outbreak of volcanos I've missed.
Frankly there is a real lack of climate skeptic evidence showing where all this CO2 is coming from don't you think?

Years ago when everyone had coal or peat fires, I remember we also had really bad peasouper fogs, it was only when gradually everyone converted to gas or oil fires that the fogs disappeared, now we don't get 'em like we used to. So there was the proof that burning fossil fuels caused the fog. In this neck of the woods it is cold freezing fog we had snow before Christmas until the beginning of this month, Jake it's bruddy freezing where do you get the "warmest winter" from? Gone to put my liberty bodice on.
