RICHMOND State Delegate Bob Marshall of Manassas says disabled children are God's punishment to women who have aborted their first pregnancy.

Has any one else read about this?

I am shocked beyond belief, though I suppose I shouldn't be anymore, by what some people come out with.

A friend of mine asked, 'Where is this guy coming from? I wonder if Sarah Palin will weigh in or will she remain oddly silent as a republican claims disabled children are gods punishment for women having abortions.' I hope she will take a stance and for once I'll be right behind her.

It's frightening to think that people allow men like this, with their ridiculous beliefs, to hold positions of authority when in any civilised society they should be considered mentally ill. Madmen all!

You do not think the Old Testament is the correct set of values by which to run a modern country?

We should count ourselves lucky in the UK that the Christian lobby do not have as much influence as in the States. Our leaders have to be believing Christians to get anywhere, which does give us a lot of leeway as far as smiting of little countries in the middle east, but the lunatic fringes with their antidiluvian views are thankfully not present over here.

We may not have a powerful Christian lobby but we sure are getting a more and more powerful Islamic lobby. Not sure which I prefer actually.
