Just watched it and it was good, although a bit caricatural at times. Don't know whether it's an accurate portrayal of Heather Brooke but Brian Cox got Michael Martin off to a T.
But was Michael Martin really the chief protagonist for keeping everything secret as he was made out to be? I must admit that I had thought that he had been made a fall guy in real life but if this story is fairly accurate then he deserved what he got and all the other MPs showed the sort of selfish behaviour in hanging him out to dry that comes as no surprise.
As for MPs being crooks - some undoubtedly pushed the system for what they could get but the majority did what I reckon most people would do and claimed for what they believed they were entitled, just as most people do in their everyday lives. That doesn't mean that some of those things should have been eligible for reimbursement in the first place. And, of course, there were a few MPs who only claimed for very minor, legitimate items.
So, overall, worth watching.
