Why does ANYBODY need to know what John Venables did?

If he'd posed a threat to her since being released im sure she'd have mentioned it when she was on This Morning the other day.

I'm sure we all have massive sympathy for Denise's tragedy, I know i wouldn't wish what happened to her family on my worst enemy, but I, along with others are mystified why she feels she has the right to know what his latest crime is. I'm doubly fluxxomed what the hell it is to do with us the general public who he is now or what he's done or even where he is.

its funny because you made it sound like it was an accidental meeting when in fact she had followed him home and learnt his work patterns to practically stalk him! so yes i use the wrods hunted down quite aptly.
Yes obviously what they did was barbaric but she is also stupid! Absolutely no good can come of her meeting them again so why do it?

Knowing what crime he has committed will also not help her in her life.(unless what he did was related to her but again she would have been advised about that and would have been told not to go on tv again)

So anyone else? why do we need to know?

From what i saw the other day (on This Morning) Ummmm, she didn't give a reason why she feels she has the right to know, just reiterated she she "has the right". Perhpas if she'd given a valid argument -i'd be more convinced?

As it is, she's quite rightly and correctly coming across as a grieving parent, and whilst I do sympathise- these aren't the right reasons to know.

I can comment all i want and I think she is a very silly person to be 'doing the rounds' on all the programmes and bringing this back to the forefront of attention as it serves no one except the news studios who sniff a good story!

How can it do her or her family any good to have it all brought up again and put it right back to the front of her mind? What outcome will actually help her now?

You still can't compare a 'what if' with a 'what has' happened.

But...if a woman, any woman, was feeding heroin to kids....it would be all over the news. Same as if an adult had committed the same crime as Venebles...all over the news. This was committed by children though....so that's the difference.

I think there are several issues here.
Firstly if we do know who he is now, and what he is charged with this may well mean a trial is not possible as it would not be a fair trial which means he walks away, I’m pretty sure no one wants that. I think the media are responsible if this happens, they should just leave it alone now.

I can understand Denise wanting to know I think I would if I was her, but this is not the right time for her to know, after the trial maybe.

Secondly if he was named and his picture published, this would not stop people being incorrectly identified as him, it would just mean the morons passing this text on would target men who look him or just people with the same name.

To get into the poor women's mind after losing a child like this in such tragic circumstances, she would I imagine , have been driven with an overwhelming urge to come face to face with Venables who took her son away from her, I wouldn't have liked to walk in her shoes, on the other hand, I don't give a toss about who he is now, only to say I don't want to pay taxes to keep the evil barsteads anonymity
