There are numerous such cases and the police always issue similar statements:

/// Supt John Burley said: 'It does appear that the baby was recently born and we're obviously concerned that she (the mother) needs medical attention as soon as possible.///

Why aren't these cases classed as murder, and the perpetrators when found accused of infanticide?

After all it is only recently that a woman was given a long prison sentence for committing a mercy killing.

Only when the mother has took every precaution possible to make sure her baby is left in a warm and safe environment, should she when arrested, be shown tolerance.

I think because women are capable of doing crazy things whilst pregnant and after giving birth.
Are these cases not exceedingly rare. I cannot find a recent example of a baby being left and dying. I stand corrected if there is another case.

It is an act of desperation, and the mother is not wishing for the baby to die, but to be cared for by others, usually.
too many scenarios to condemn the mother - every babe has a father too. If the mother responds to police she will be prosecuted....I think she's been through enough, poor girl and baby.

The tardy bag checker & shop should feel guilty....no sympathy for them from me!
They leave the baby to be found. Happened too late this time.
I have found another one - more tragic if anything

// A newborn boy abandoned outside a mosque died in hospital after police officers waited nearly an hour to call an ambulance.

Witnesses said that a tent had been erected around the baby’s body before officers realised that he was still breathing. //

Cases are still rare though.

I could have posted this when it happened early this month, but I didn't want you and others to accuse me of Islamophobia.
what's the betting if the bag was full of money, Said Ahned, 64 (mosque man) would have picked it up or, at least, touched it. That idiot could have saved that baby....rather than pass the buck!

Rare, I don't think so.

Police found a bomb outside a Mosque. They've told the public not to panic as they've managed to push it inside.
often due to girls being gang raped.
Where did you get that from Tambo?

Thanks AOG. I was meaning the child dying due to being left is rare, though your link, without giving any totals, suggests there are more than a few. It doesn't specify if the babies died as a result of being left, or died during birth and were then abandoned.

// In 85 per cent of the cases, the mother and child are reunited. In the remainder of cases the children are usually fostered or adopted, but several babies who are abandoned are found dead. //
seen it, heard of it.....happens a lot. Just watch out for cars full of testerone male trawling the clubs.

I do a lot of chauffering for my lot clubbing - for their safety - and my car is my weapon!

Gang rape is rare...!!

Zeuhl...you'll feel the same way when your kids start clubbing. I hope you haven't trawled clubs with your mates.
You what?

What are you insinuating Tambo?

You do come out with some bizarre statements....!!!
