Since this was dated 1st April, one must be prepared to make up one's own mind if it is indeed true.

But apart from that, earlier in the week while out in my car negotiating the numerous pot-holes in the road, I suggested to my wife that it would be a good idea for the council to erect warning signs, of "Pot-Holes.

In the name of elf 'n' safety they place warning sign "Slippery Surface" "Flooding" "Uneven Road Surface", etc, etc.so why not have a sign denoting "Pot holes"?.

No that would be far too embarrassing for them, rather come out and spray paint around them, job done. We know they are there and we will get around to it in our own time.

In the meantime the heavily tax paying motorist foots the bill. I wonder if they allow pot-holes in cycle paths?

I suppose it's motorists who cause them?
No, its two bitterly cold winters, with the freezing and thawing.

" I read the news today oh boy
Four thousand holes in Blackburn, Lancashire
And though the holes were rather small
They had to count them all
Now they know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall. "

Probably the result of the severely cold Winter of 1963.

Or John Lennon was getting his old nick-nacks out of storage ...
My husband has had to renew 4 tyres and 2 of his wheel frame have buckled because of horrendous pot holes.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if this is true, the roads in Kent have suffered apallingly in the snow and frost this year - I commented on same when I was lumping back down in the car from the supermarket today. Some have been resurfaced, others are still shockingly bad.
