I know what you mean I have had it in the past, it's like a metallic taste isn't it?
I hardly ever have a cold but have experienced the iron taste. It usually disappears after a few days. Sorry not to help. I think if you google 'metallic taste in mouth' it might show up. :0)

Yes, I'd forgotten that, it can be common in pregnancy :0)

Bless her..... she's just rushed up to the chemist.
I had that too... when I was pregnant.
Or certain sleeping tabs can leave a metallic taste so maybe other medications do too
Found this which explains why it could be due to the cold...

maybe its just one of them things that comes with a cold eh, seems to be quite common,
its just so flippin damn nasty isnt it?!
Don't forget to drink lots of liquid,I seem to of gone through my usual 2 liters of juice quick and still have that taste. My nose just wont clear either.Maybe it has something to do with that ash cloud?lol
When I had glandular fever I got it and actually had what looked like blood in the back of my throat. The GP told me the glands produce iodine to fight the infection, hence the taste.
