I wonder how many of those who championed John Prescott when he lashed out at the moron who threw an egg over him, are now prepared to champion BNP parliamentary candidate Bob Bailey, after he was spat on?

Suspiciously so one might almost say - do they not have an opinion on thisthey feel obliged to share with us? They're not normally so reticent!
You're obviously not as confused as they are AOG "Yob" seems to have been your word.

/// The BNP candidate should leave it to the law as common assault.///
And how long would that take?
If the police arrived in time, and charged him with assault, he would then have his case trawled through the courts, at taxpayer expense, then if found guilty, the appeal to the high court, then on to the European court of Human Rights.
No I think a good smack across his face with a thick slice of 'Danish Best' was all that was needed.

I feel they would have loved to have a go, but like the rest of the establishment, they can't be seen to side with the BNP.
It would seem they are sensible enough just to take Nick Griffin's advice,
/// The more people in the media talk this up as an issue, the more silly kids on the streets will be inclined to take the law into their hands.’///

Nope Sorry AOG I absolutely do not condone his actions at all.
Prescott was attacked! from behind with a relatively hard object.
and I am in now way condoning spitting and would probably have hit out myself. But to see a potential MP chasing and punching someone on the ground while someone else kicks him in the back!!!! come the F on! you cannot seriously condone that!?

Because I cannot load the video, let's just take the captions below the still photos:
/// Attack: BNP candidate Bob Bailey throws a punch during a confrontation with a group of youths in Barking, East London, yesterday ///
Can you honestly see that he is throwing a punch?
/// Face off: The youths and Mr Bailey and his team square up ///
More like Mr Baily friendly approaches the youths.
/// Provoked: The youth on the left spits at Mr Bailey, prompting his backlash ///
He may have done but I cannot see it.
/// Thrashing: Mr Bailey grips the man who spat on him before punching him ///
Hardly a thrashing, or even a punch, it just looks as if Mr Baily is trying to restrain the youth.
/// Attack: Mr Bailey delivers a kick to the man while he's on the ground///
To me it just looks as if Mr Bailey is running towards his attacker.
/// Melee: The scuffle erupts into a fully blown fight as the other youths and Mr Bailey's canvassing team pile in ///
3 against one as other youths join in, Mr Bailey's canvassing team pile in????? their gesture is for calm.
/// Toppled: The fighters hit the ground as Mr Bailey repeatedly punches and kicks one of the youths ///
One fighter hits the ground, could Mr Bailey just be helping him up? how can anyone tell if Mr Bailey repeatedly punches and kicks one of the youths?

Actually Oldgit - surprisingly I'm not a violent person and have never lashed out at anyone and I hope I never do.
If there are witnesses i.e evidence then I hope you wouldn't mind paying a slight amount to take the abuser through the courts since having assaulted an innocent person.
Now if the candidate had done that, we would be discussing the right to free speech and youth thuggery not the inappropriate violent reaction of a public figure who is canvassing on behalf of a Party who wishes to govern this country.

"Championing"??
As I recall, just about everyone agreed that the person who threw an egg at Prescott was out of order. And that Prescott reacted in a way that was thuggish and out of line for an MP.
And in this case, just about everyone agrees that spitting in someone's face is out of order. And that beating someone up is thuggish and out of line for a prospective MP.
So everyone's agreeing with everyone. But your paranoia and obsession with the far right has got you into a tizz? Is that accurate would you say?
