I ask you, for once the Bench got it about right, but there is always some who will object. These two yobs are 16 why can't they be named and shamed?

another example of the inadequate and terrible parenting we see a lot of today...the belief that their darling kids can do no wrong and the refusal to punish them, and instead, close ranks and rear up in anger against anyone who does.
its a shame that many, lets face illeducated and dimwitted people, believe that to properly 'protect' and bring up their children correctly means shielding them at all costs from perceived 'attacks'...no matter who its comes from or why...

They cannot be named (and even if they were I doubt it would shame them) because the law does not allow it. Youths under 18 are afforded anonymity in court proceedings unless exceptional circumstances prevail. Unfortunately these circumstances are in no way exceptional.

No he did not. What he said was 'Normal people would consider you absolute scum ...' so it is not necessarily the Magistrate's personal opinion being offered.

That said, it is not the Magistrate's function to provide a voice for what may or may not be the opinion of the population at large, that is the job of the media, who have performed withint their remit on this occasion - even if the Magistrate exceeded his own.

Not like you only to see and interperate what fits your attitude and run with it AOG - accurate or not ... or is it?

That's disgraceful - the magistrate felt he was representing the voice of the general public (whether or not he should actually have voiced it). If this appeal or object is upheld, in view of what these boys were found guilty of, the world has indeed gone mad.
