Email this morning from 'Robert' and the title is : 'From Capt. Roberts Edward (Iraq) ' it sounds odd as theres something not quite right about it, I've not opened it, is it some foreigner sitting in an internet cafe somewhere pretending to be British?

I would delete it, Dot. How did Cap'n Jack... sorry, Robert Edward get your email addy anyway?

Oh, and btw... I've never purported to have a glam lifestyle. I live in a house with 3 bedrooms that just happens to be in another country. Pass that onto Poodi too when you see her. Cheers !

I didn;t think there were any British Troops still in Iraq anyway, I know some RAF personel in Afghanistan that's all. I'l report it as phishing wotsit.

NM I did think poodi meant you and I do understand how your posts here may appear to her as portraying a glamorous lifestyle but her take on glamour is probably different to mine anyway lol i know you're scraping a living together and struggling to find coin for the meter and all your pension goes to pay the debt to your winemerchant and so I know you're just as common as the rest of us lol
i would delete it if you are unsure.
Capt Edwards might be in the American forces. He probably has come across a fortune that once belonged to Saddam and is asking your help in getting it out of the country.

But more likely some type of scam. Bin it.
Thank you, Dot. Don't suppose you've got a couple of coins to spare have you? I've only got one bottle of wine to go with lunch...

I've reported it as a phishing scam, I do get alot of these and they usually get directed to the junk box but a few seem to get past the filter and land in the main inbox, when they use normal sounding names it's hard to spot. Yesterday I had one from 'your nearest friend margaret' . I wasn't sure how they thought they were my nearest friend maragret as the nearest margaret I knoe lives in Stockton Heath.

alexander how do you know they are from Nigeria, how can you tell if they have a yahoo address?
You can tell if they are from Nigeria by the IP address. If it is from a yahoo account, it includes the originating IP address. You look at the source information and then run it through an IP detector and it should come up with the country (and often the town) of origin.

Hi Barmaid, can i look at that info by right clicking on the email in the inbox or do i need to open the mail?
I think you would have to open it but I can't remember. Hang on a mo and I'll find the site with instructions on how to do it.
