Given that the Tories have kept the name Conservative Party - despite the need for them to subsume a whole ADDITIONAL party in order to form a government - I can see no reason why New Labour should have to change ITS name either, really.

R1G, I know that Tories have notoriously short memories...eg they forgot that John Major was Prime Minister for about a year and a half before holding an election...that is, he was, in Tory press words, an "unelected Prime Minister" long before Gordon Brown was. (Never mind the fact that we don't elect Prime Ministers in the UK anyway!)
What I wondered, though, was whether you recall the occasion a few weeks ago when I said you seemed to be obsessed with the Labour Party. You replied, "Yes, with getting them out!" or words to that effect. Perhaps you haven't noticed, but they ARE out, yet here you are still frequently drawing everyone's attention to them AND to your own obsession. Can you yourself see any end to that? I ask purely out of interest and some concern for you.

You have a point I suppose about me going on about Labour. Forgive me if I'm a little over exhuberant, to me it feels like the end of a dark age, 13 years of horror, so I guess I need constant reminders that the bogeymen are gone. So forgive me this brief period of levity!
