Why do we hate the Olympics?
http://www.theanswerb...t/Question897418.html
Just one example of the rabid vitriol spouted about 2012. Any other nation would be delighted but not us oh no. It'll probably make a profit anyway as has every games since 1984 but that doesn't stop the gutless, "price of everything, value of nothing" sh1tbags having go at every opportunity. What are they worried about? running out of snout and white lightening for workshy scum?

Of course if the nation is successful in winning that bid the 2012 Olympic Stadium at Stratford will not be suitable to stage any matches, least of all the final. A brand new venue will have to be constructed (“stadium regulations have changed”, “Olympic Stadium not large/prestigious enough” etc. etc.).
What intrigues me is that we will have professional sportsmen and woman who earn vast sums participating in these “spectacles”, but the same sports that make the insane payments to them (for what is very often mediocre and tedious entertainment) cannot see their way clear to fund their own events.
