This little episode clearly shows the evil face of the far left, they shouted ‘Kill Willie, Get Willie’ at BA chief executive Willie Walsh.

What did they hope to gain by breaking up the meeting between the unions and BA?

'The evil left.'

Nice effort. It makes a change from 'the Nasty Left' - that term you've been trying to introduce into common usage, for years and years. With spectacularly unsuccessful results.
Question Author
Where have you been?
Its used nationally.
These people were morons, without an ounce of sense between them

More to the point why was Derek Simpson twittering the details.?
I didn't like the hat one of them was wearing so can we have a rant about "evil cap wearers"? Seems like an equally valid generalisation.

/// Looking at the photgraph, the so called evil left did not appear to disturb his phone conversation. ///

Could be he was trying to get in touch with the police, but they seem to be out.
Why is it that short (arses) like Willie Walsh have the Napoleon syndrone. He is drivng the company into liquidation. Jaw-jaw not war-war is not part of his vocabulary.

Now, now, Rev you can't be referring to that person who resides in Rome could you?

/// He is drivng the company into liquidation.///

On the contrary I think he is trying to save the company.

The company can't exist at its present state, without some harsh measures and cuts. Just like this country certain unpopular preventive measures must be taken or we are all in the mess.

The past pampered staff of BA, must learn to take their share of cuts, to help prevent the demise of BA. If not they may shortly find themselves out of a very nice lucrative occupation.
AOG,

If the cap fits...

Krom,

It's always annoying when someone else is right, ask AOG. Sorry bad example.
The union leader seems to think this is 1973 and he's Red Rbbo! "Why doesn't the management just give in to our demands?" The unions will destroy the jobs completely in the end.

Tut, tut, Rev it seems that the 'NastyLeft' haven't got a sense of humour also.

With your username being 'Rev Sermon', I was taking your answer down a religious road, hence my referral to that person in Rome.

Er? Why bother.
AOG,

I quite understood your reference and wasn't disputing it, hence my comment. And less of the nasty left where I'm concerned I'm usually more nasty right.
Perhaps they're worried their Union was about to sell them short.

It's hard to believe anything you hear about this dispute as both sides are playing the media for all they're worth. But it sounds as if the majority of issues have been resolved and they're just fighting over the punative measures against strikers such as withdrawal of travel priviledges.

They may also be hoping that the BA shareholders will have had enough of Walsh's macho management methods and wil replace him if things continue in this fashion.

One of the principle roles of a chief executive is to introduce change - if he can't do this without endangering the survival of his company he's a bad chief executive.

Reminiscient of the British car industry isn't it?

We still have British people making cars in Britain

We don't have British companies making cars in Britain

Why can British workers work perfectly well with foreign management but not with British management?

That should (sadly) tell you something about British management.

Rev Sermon

Your comment "if the cap fits" was an aggressive comment made against me for no reason.

Whereas my comment about the "nasty left", was against these protesters wishing Willie Walsh dead, and in no way referred to you.

Yet once again you showed your aggression towards me, by your remark,

/// And less of the nasty left where I'm concerned ///
Question Author
Fair comment jake, British management has a great deal to answer for, simply because we don't generally get the best management.

Rather who you know and very little what you know, followed on by successive Governments who have not been prepared to invest in British know-how.
AOG,

Aggression is rarely part of my make up. My "cap fits" comment was aimed at the his holiness in Rome, my "less of the nasty..." comment was meant to be tongue in cheek humour.

Wind me up enough and I'll get aggressive but your miles off at the monent. Still friends?
