Should he be banned?

It states that Mr Donohoe, was given a three year driving ban, however, despite the nature of the offence he is legally free to continue riding his scooter.
Does this mean if he owns a car he will be banned from driving it for 3 years, but can continue to drive the vehicle (a mobility scooter), on which he committed the offence of drink driving?
There will be some who will complain about these vehicles driving at 4 MPH as dangerous, and should be banned from our foot-ways,
Should we then also ban heavy weight pedestrians, fast moving joggers, horses, and bicycles from these foot-ways?

Pathetic......those things go no faster than most of us can walk
About as dangerous as a mother pushing a pram who'd had one too many
but hey.....it looks good on their monthly percentages......stats are the most important thing you know
and there were 8 coppers??? I bet if you're house was being burgled though there'd be no one available and they'd send someone round the next day

au contraire.
some of these electric scooters can do 10 mph and their combined vehicle/rider weight can be considerable.
anybody like to guess how much damage one could do if it hit another elderly and frail person, or a child?
sorry to say it, but down here on the south coast i have seen many instances of these things being used on footpaths and even inside shops by people with little control of them even when sober.

Drunk in charge of a push chair, penalty, 3 years ban from driving a car?????
Drunk on a horse, penalty, 3 years ban from driving a car?????
Drunk while jogging and knocks someone over causing serious injuries, 3 years driving ban, or banned from jogging?
I wonder if he took his driving ban to court it would be thrown out?
How can one be banned from driving a car, that is safely tucked up in one's garage, when one is driving while over the limit, a vehicle that is not by any stretch of the imagination a car?.

There is a man locally with a very heavy mobility scooter... one that does the 8mph He rides it on the pavement although the max speed for footway use is meant to be 4mph (8mph and they should be on the road wirth a licence...looked into this for disabled friend ) knocked an elderly lady down then shouted abuse at her for getting in his way, when I pointed out he was in the wrong he threatened to run me over as well...
I complained to the local police but their reply was .... well he is disabled...
He is also a dangerous obnoxious thug
I think he should be restricted to a scooter governed at a slow walking pace until he learns to be a little more considerate..
