#must be the only example ever of the tail wagging the dog. #.
Most countries support their friends. China and Iran support North Korea ,
South Africa and most African States support Zimbabwe. Russia supports Cuba a fact that nearly started a WW III. Russia and China support the South American dictators .
Without this support most of these countries would collapse or be forced to change their policies and Israel is the most flagrant example.
So sandyRoe what would you do about Israel ?

Turkey's actually been one of the few Muslim countries to get on with Israel (possibly because it too takes a harsh line with opposition). But Israel has always been content to offend both friends and enemies as long as it gets its own way.

Israel would still be viable if Washington kept on pouring money into it, sandy. Jack, I suspect the two-state solution is the only option left. The Palestinians' land was stolen at the end of the war, and they've been second-class citizens, or none, ever since. I think they're as entitled to a homeland as the Jews are, though of course the Jews were promised one by God and the Palestinians were not.
