No. They seem great fun. I wish I could play a musical instrument.
Great fun? They ruin the atmosphere.
A musical instrument?! It's one long drone for 90 minutes.
No, can't see the harm.
The people who live there love them, I think it's awful, all these foreigners go to visit a foreign country with it's funny foreign ways, and, then expect the hosts to change their ways to suit them.
There have already been a couple of bookings which could be attributed to players failing to hear the Ref's whistle............
lol @ 123everton
The World Cup chief exec dropped a hint:

'It is a huge debate and it will continue, but we did say that if one lands on the pitch in anger then we will not think twice and take action.'
They're terrible, they sound like a swarm of demented bees
thank goondess! cant ban them quick enough!

They have ruined every single game so far! all i can say is
'what were they thinking?!!!!!!!'
I hope they are banned!!
It's a constant distraction and as I have said before on other threads, If they are bothering viewers so much can you imagine how the actual players feel?? I have only heard of Patrice Evra voicing his opinion on them.
My mam loves football and was looking forward to the world cup but because of her tinnitus she won't watch cause the noise is so irritating to her.

I hope they do get banned.
The "I don't like it so it must be banned brigade" strike again

Hint: TVs and remotes have a volume button. If you don't like what you hear, turn it down.
I assume you are not a football fan Gromit? A lot of the fun is listening to the atmosphere of the fans, the chants, songs, cheers etc

To have this drowned out by a monotonous bee-like drone for 90 minutes spoils the game.

It's comparable to those people who like the Eurovision Song Contest. I personally hate it but if someone was sat there blowing on a horn for the entire length of the contest, I too wouldn't be happy.
I think - play them for the first 10 minutes or so and before and between the actual match. I caught some of the mexico match on friday and wondered when they were going to stop blowing on the bleeding things. I couldn't watch a whole match if that racket went on for the entire 90 minutes or so....
I would even go as far as to class uit as anti-social behaviour. If someone were sat outside your house Gromit blasting on one of these things, would you report them or sit there with ear-plugs thinking, "boys will be boys"?
I believe there are different audio options 'on the red button'.

You can always opt for the one that mutes the inane drone from the moronic commentators.
Gromit, what do you expect? Of course if someone doesnt like something they will seek to change it.
These trumpets are a distraction and it does get on yout t**s after a while. As for turning down the volume I have never heard anything so reduculous. What if you want to hear the commentry ?
Much of the game of footbal is the atmosphere, this is totally drowned.
Personally I think these things are a step too far.
As for moaning about people going to another country, lets not forget there is no choice in this one. Yes, a fair enough argument if someone chooses a place for a holiday destination or even to live. But for a competition where you do not have the choice I hardly think that your argument stands up.
I think they ruining the atmosphere at the games. Due to this stupid trumpets, there's no chanting, singing, mexican waves going on- all the fun things stopped, just those godawful rackets.
You'd think their mouth muscles would get tired after a while.. A bit like blowing up balloons orally - it hurts after so much effort.

Then again, I suppose there's enough of them to take it in turns?
Is that a stupid statement?
It's not really adding to the atmosphere as it's just one big din, unlike previous World Cups where you could hear the Fans themselves chanting and singing their Countries' songs. The novelty of these horns has worn off already......
The novelty wore off for me 6 minutes into the first game I watched.
