I'm sorry but it really winds me up just thinking about how this attack on the Great British culture will be reported in the tabloid press. Don't Fritz and and those other fools on the EU gravy train realise that stories like these are like Christmas come early (or a football match against the Germans) to our brave copywriters? If they are going to bring in barmy legislation regarding foodstuffs then they should surely pick on something with less obvious puns than eggs. What do you think?

This measure will only affect people who are unable to count past twelve. And it appears to be people who cannot read who are upset by it.

They are not saying you cannot sell 6 eggs or a dozen. They can sell in whatever quantity they want. It is just that the box should not have the number 6 (or 12) on it.

Now, if you are really really dim, and you cannot work out how many eggs are in this box...

It spoils the surprise when you open the box and you find that there are... ...6!

When you can plainly see by the packaging that there are 6 eggs in the box, it is pointless. it is more useful to know the weight.

Only an idiot would need telling how many eggs are in a box. They are not banning shops from selling 12 eggs, just printing the number on a box.

Would you expect that every item you buy has a number on it? Cake = 1, cornflakes = 1000?

There are a lot of fresh and frozen items in supermarkets which have see-through packaging (small packs of sliced meat, frozen sausages, chicken breasts, fish etc), but they still have the number of items enclosed printed on the packaging

Who the fcuk wants to count how many things are inside packaging while doing there shopping? Whats the problem with having the number of eggs printed on the box? Who exactly is it hurting/offending

From looking at a box of eggs, it's obvious how many are in it. It isn't so obvious on things like a pack of sausages, as they are more closely packed.

If you can't work out how many eggs are in a box, you shouldn't be shopping without your carer.
