For all the Daily Mail haters on this site, here is the DM's report on the proposed English Defence League march.

Yes reading that, one could almost believe they were reading a Guardian report., along with the specially selected photos and the piece entitled: 'A MAGNET FOR NEO-NAZI THUGS.

Who says the DM is a right-wing paper, things are more serious than I suspected.

AOG

The British do not like extremists, thugs or cowardly mobs, and the Daily Mail know that, which is why they see the EDL as a legitimate target.

It is not a sign of the Mail being left wing, it is a sign that AOG is too rightwing even for the Mail. As we know, you view anyone who does not agree with you as leftwing.
You should know by now AOG that it is ok for nasty extermist thugs to march and protest in the UK as long as they are Muslim.

Once anyone starts to protest ABOUT the Muslims that is not allowed.

They will come to regret it someday VHG, they take no prisoners

I know they are Gromit, because anyone who is right-wing doesn't tend to disagree with me.

And it isn't a crime to be Right-Wing.
Why does condemnation of the EDL automatically make one 'left wing'?

Surely that's not true.
AOG, you seem disappointed that the Mail has not come out in support of the EDL. Although they are trying to distance themselves, there is no difference between the two of them. That is serious!

It's what you call chasing the minority vote (a very strong number) or in the Daily Mails case readership.

Anything that comes along to upset the Status Quo, the media don't like it, the establishment doesn't like it, the ethnics don't like it.

If one was to take a vote if one agreed with what the EDL was standing for, you would be surprised at the result, providing of course they wouldn't be found out how they voted (the British are funny that way).

The same could be said for bringing hanging back.

You anti Daily Mail brigade never fail to amaze me.

They are condemned if they do, and condemned if they don't.

They just can't win..
The problem the EDF and WDF have is that whilst some of their aims may be of legitimate concern, their numbers a filled with people who look like this:

http://www.dailymail....ue-takes-streets.html

What moderate person would want to go anywhere near these people?

And what's this about chasing the minority vote?

Don't you think that most people black, white and Asian, reading the DM report would be equally disgusted?

Back to the question - don't you think that the vast majority of people, whether they lean to the left, centre or right abhor the blatant racism of the EDF and WDF?

Why would you think it's just 'the lefties'? Political and social belief is not that polarized.
The 'ethnics'? Rather an unpleasant turn of phrase there AOG - but i am in agreement - I don't think The Status Quo should be upset - they have given hours of listening pleasure to millions of people - that ban on airplay by Radio One was right out of order!

Never mind Left and Right - let's get behind The Quo!!!!!
LOL andy but I'm afraid humour is an alien concept to AOG

I saw them at Bridlington Spa in 1982 and I think Francis Rossi's new single was very good but even Radio two seem to have stopped playing it. Shame!

Like I said specially chosen photos to get the message across, I could also show you pics of Asian & Blacks rioting.

But lets take the two you have offered as proof.

Yes the one carrying out the Nazi salute is suspect in picture 1, but the rest seem OK.

And in picture 2, only two or perhaps three in the foreground look intimidating,
the rest look harmless enough.

To answer your question: /// don't you think that the vast majority of people, whether they lean to the left, centre or right abhor the blatant racism of the EDF and WDF? ///

No defiantly not, you would be surprised.

Regarding the blatant racism, the EDF are against the increasing Islamic take over of England, since Islam is a religion and not a race, how come they are racist?

It is just that well worn out word 'Racist' that is being wheeled out once again, to try and strike fear and embarrassment into the normally tolerant English.
Ey up stalker! How you doin?

I knew when I typed 'Status Quo' there would be some that didn't know what the phrase meant, others would start rattling off about music, when all they were doing was to try and distant the matter in hand.

Yes I must be losing my sense of humour C-A-S, because I don't find you one bit funny.

/// The 'ethnics'? Rather an unpleasant turn of phrase there AOG ///

This isn't a turn of phrase it is a perfectly respectable word, unless it is another word we are not allowed to use, thanks to the PC Brigade.

So Status Que has been baned from Radio1 eh?

Perhaps it to make way for more 'ETHNIC' music.
"Like I said specially chosen photos to get the message across, I could also show you pics of Asian & Blacks rioting. "

Ah, so you admit it's possible to cherrypick examples to make false implications about the majority?

I won't forget you've said this, AOG.
Far be it from me to nitpick AOG - I leave that to others on the AB - but if you refer to the status quo, then I accept you refer to matters as they are. If however, you refer to the Staus Quo, then your capitalisation places you firmly inthe remit of the musical rockaboogie combo who rejoice in that name.

I still take issue with the connotations of the word 'ethnics', but we will agree to differ there,

As for your observation that the ban of Status Quo's music is 'Perhaps to make way for more ETHNIC music' - there is no need - Radio One has a sub-section called 'One Extra' which caters excluively to what you refer to as 'ETHNIC' music, so the point is rather lost - aside from which it is rather below your usual standard of riposte.

I shall regard it as a temporary abberation - along with the occasional typos, of which i am also guilty - and not rise to comment.
