I can guarantee that no 'toff' will be reaching for his Parker pen (unless he's really impoverished). If you go to any 'serious' (i.e. expensive) specialist pen shop they'll show you the door very quickly if you dare to mention 'Parker'. That's akin to going to Fortnum and Mason and asking if they stock Lidl's special offers.

Any real 'toff' will reach for a pen made by Cross, Lamy, Caran d'Ache or Waterman.

I use a Parker pen? I've had it for years. I'm not posh or well-to-do by any means, it's just a nice pen to write with and very reliable...

i bought a pen for my fiancee at christmas, after research i found that whilst parkers are not that great (but they do the job of writing) montblanc are not considered a good brand amongst 'thems what know' even though a montblanc will set you back alot more money.

in the end i went german with a Pelikan fountain pen

Nothing wrong with a BIC very good pen that lasts ages, i see the plonker on the bike is upset again are there no bad stories in the press about immigrants or the benefit cheats. joko are you sure it was cat hairs and not some white powder that was causing problems with your nose.
