ewwwwwwwwwwwww..... that's GROSS!
Oh that is really horrible, what a nightmare.
That is horrible but if the council agreed it was a isolated incident and that all reasonable precautions were taken to stop it from happening then why were they fined? When Mars had something similar happen with a mouse's head they didnt get fined a penny because they could back up all their safety records and food hygiene practices with good record keeping and contractor visits.

I probably would have gone and got some sausage rolls or something I wouldnt have carried on making everyone sandwiches.

what's worse than finding a worm in an apple?

Finding half a worm in an apple.

It's wondering what became of the tail that would be turning my stomach. All the same, that's quite a lot of money for a turned stomach.
It was probably just a mischievous employee who couldn't resist the temptation to add the mouse to the bread.

When I was 16, I worked at a pork pie factory where there was a massive number of big hairy caterpillars on the bushes outside. We carefully ensured that one live caterpillar was added to the mixture in each of hundreds of Marks & Spencers pies ;-)

Why is it news now, this was in January 2009, 18 months ago????

Yukkk! I bet we wouldn't eat lots of things if we knew what went into them.

I worked with a fella who used to be a butcher. He said mice sometimes went into the mince. He was going back a few years though ... hopefully the food inspector would put paid to that sort of thing nowadays.

So true tony. I once watched a butcher scraping the face off a pig to go into mince. He laughed when I said that it had put me off buying it. I guess sometimes we are a bit naive about these things.

Tony, that's horrible. Made me shudder.

Had it been in the far East, you would be paying extra for that loaf of bread.
A spokesman for Premier Foods said: "We apologise profusely for the distress caused as a result of this isolated incident.
