Now that Ed Miliband is the new Labour Leader, and he says he is committed to the country and his party, shouldn't he now make a commitment to his partner, and marry her?

He also said he didn't have time to register the birth of his son, and the space on the birth certificate where the fathers name should be, remains blank.

I wonder if he will correct these things, now that his partner is expecting again, but wait a minute, now that he is Labour's Leader, isn't he going to be even more busy?

naomi....early days. He is charismatic, nobody´s fool and if the Coalition don.t come up with the goods,the Lib Dems will be ditched and they will support Labour in a straight fight with the Tories.

His marital status is an irrelevance, except as a subject for gossip.Only if he and Labour assumed the moral high ground, preaching to the rest of us on relationship and parenting issues,or pontificating about "family values" a la John Major in the twighlight of his premiership. does it begin to have any legitimate political or social significance worthy of debate.

As I said before squad whether he marries or not depends not just on his wishes but on those of his girlfriend. If she doesn't want to marry him then it's all a bit of a non starter isn't it?

If Ed's son has got a birth certificate then the birth must have been registered. Leaving the father's name blank is odd, it's hardly a time thing. Maybe he isn't the father.

Lazygun.........you may well right, the British Public are odd in that superficially they accept these "anomalies" but when push comes to shove i.e a General Election, respectability and well trod traditional paths come to the fore.

A mistress.......fine..........but unmarried....questionable.
