It's not only some posters on here that are accused of homophobic jibes.

But in this case it was a perfectly innocent jibe about openly gay 'Strictly Come Dancing' judge,Revel Horwood's upcoming role, promoting British Sausage Week, which is launched on November 1.

Some people eh?

so you obviously believe it was 'perfectly innocent'. Others may not, of course.
First I've heard of it, but then I missed half the show last night.

I'm sure, though, that Revel Horwood is thick-skinned enough to be able to take such comments, innocently meant or otherwise, squarely on the chin.

/// Revel Horwood wrote on his Twitter page: ‘Paul Daniels was naturally referring to my being crowned King of the Sizzle for sausage week!’///

Obviously Mr Horwood knew what Mr Daniels was referring to, so that's all that matters, not what bigoted, individuals with no sense of humour, think in their own twisted minds think.
Mr Horwood is no more capable of reading Paul Daniels' mind than I am, so his 'intention' is a matter of opinion. What matters is whether he came up with a double entendre on a family show before the watershed. He appears to have done so.
You protest too much, it's the twenty first century, no one cares you play the pink oboe, no need to stay in the closet any longer.
Surely Revel Horwood should be promoting 'Hide the sausage' week instead?
Ironic use of the word bigot, I believe...
Yes, of course he was, Revel Horwood, referring to your involvement with sausage promotion, an aspect of your life with which he was certainly familiar LOL
I think Revel Horwood knew exactly what the double entendre was, don't you? His reply was appropriate.
I'd say it was an inappropriate comment for a family show, and a bit disrespectful to the judge, but he's rude and disrespectful himself, so I don't really have a problem with someone being rude back to him.
ludwig - rude, yes; indecent, not so sure.

I just cannot believe some of you, or how your minds work.

I watched that particular episode of 'Strictly Come Dancing', and Paul Daniel's remark went completely over my head, in fact I didn't notice anything offensive in it, I thought it was a strange thing to say, but to attach it to Revel Horwood's sexuality I just didn't do, in fact I did not even know he was gay, rather 'Camp' yes, but 'Gay' no.

Added to the fact that I would not have associated 'tasting sausages' with homosexuality, it was all a none event to me until I read the press report, that he was to head the promotion of British sausages, and then I could see the point in the remark.

But apparently there are many on here along with those that complained to the BBC, that wish to think the worst and to blow this affair up out of all proportion, and these are the ones who criticise newspapers such as the Daily Mail for doing likewise.

What is that old saying "evil to him who evil thinks"?
True jno - like I said, innapropriate for a family show, and also not funny - even if had been post watershed.
I'm sure Craig will get over it though. He's gets well paid for playing the pantomime villain part on the panel. He can't really complain - which to be fair, he hasn't.

Julian Clary's come back to him was much better (a few years back) - he called him a silly old queen and said he had too much foundation on. That's a classy retort, whereas Daniels one was crass.
But AOG you know how all the hand wringing pinko liberals, particularly on this site, like to take offence on behalf of someone else, even when that someone else does not want them too.

These people should keep their noses out, live and let live, and stop looking for excuses for chastising others.

I stronlgy suspect most of them have some sort of inadequacy.
