I, for one, get bored of hearing the Beckham's being slagged off all the time for spending the money they have earned (whether you agree with how it has been earned or not). Do we not have anything better to do than waste time being negative about a couple we will never meet or change? Does it really matter in the grand scheme of things what they wear and what their children are called, or why?
It is entirely their choice of name for their child, would you listen to them if they laughed at your child's name?
I think the biggest 'chavs' are the ones that use the term, it's derrogatory, sad and shows the lack of vocabulary (note I'm not implying that I am any better regarding laguage and vocab). I think even David Beckham could think of a better insult than that!
Oh, and apparently Cruz is Spanish for 'Cross', and is a common girls name - so get your knives out and start slagging them for that now......
Stevie21 - personally, I only like traditional names.
Also, when naming a 'baby', you should consider it growing up & into an adult.
I shall never forget in the early sixties, peeping into a pram & congratulating a neighbour on her beautiful little baby boy. When I asked what they'd named him, she rather embassingly replied " Elvis". This baby grew into a teenager, who then changed his name by deed poll - why - because he could no longer live with the ridicule. Say no more!
But then again - everyone to their own.
Natalie_1982: is it not hard to type with all those gold sovereign rings?
Just think of the poor kid going to school with a spanish girl's name. Don't these people think of the consequences?
You are right, we never meet these people but, due to the media attention, they have effected many parts of our lives from what the "ideal" woman is to look like down to changing names for parts of the body. Forever now, the metetarsal bone in the foot will be called the Beckham bone.
Yes that's right, all my soverign rings, and I'm just tilting my baseball cap so that I can see the screen properly......hup! pulling myself up from the floor where I dropped laughing so hard and couldn't get back up due to the weight of the chains around my neck, pciking up local radio stations on my hoop earrings, etc etc. Narrow minded, you?
People slag the Beckhams (especially Victoria) for being famous while having little talent. The fact is that she generates so much attention (as you've all amply demonstrated here) that she doesn't need ability to be in the papers so often. You can't criticise *her* for the amount of attention that you pay her!
I dont understand why people care what they have named their kid, its entirely up to them. One thing though all this talk about consequences when he goes to schoolits not like Cruz will be going to a state school amongst kids with normal names. Hell be mixing with the rich and elite and nobody would pick on him cos hes David Beckhams son. I dont think that Zo Bowie got teased for her name or in fact any famous offspring in the past, nor will Apple, Brooklyn, Romeo or any of the others. So you dont like his name, so what? I dont think The Beckhams will be shaking in their boots over your lack of approval.
