Do you tell the time by your mobile?

Why on a bright sunny day, is it easier to look for the time by a watch?

Because in sunny weather, I have yet to own a mobile that I can see to read text messages never mind check the time.

Good point Craft1948!
I love my watch too and also think of it as jewellery. I also check the time on my PC, wallclocks, TV remote or the cooker but never ever on my mobile - wouldn't cross my mind to do so.
I suffered a stroke 10 years ago and when I finally got back on my feet again I decided time wasn't all that important, chucked my watch in a draw and I've never looked at it since. If i've got to be somewhere important at a certain time the boss reminds me
your boss is female no doubt?
gingejbee 45 watches? Wow any watch and chains amongst your collection? I've always loved the ol watch and chain but it would seem rather odd to pull one out in this age though I've heard that there have been a few made for this age, do you know anything about it?
A wrist watch is very useful when switching to left hand drive when abroad. If you normally wear it on your left, when you get behind the wheel switch your watch to the right wrist - it feels odd and is a sub conscious anchor to keep right on the road.

Putting your mobile in your opposite pocket doesn't work so well.
.
Off course, unlike a lot of men I'm not too proud to admit that my lady is in charge even if she lets me pretend to be the boss
Micky; no, all wrist pieces, I'm afraid. Wouldn't really be interested in the chains etc as I don't wear the sort of clothes they would go with. I usually buy at least one watch when I'm on holiday. Switzerland, two years ago, was interesting.......!
I wear a watch. I use mobile 'reminders' a lot.
@ Backdrifter - at the risk of seeming a bit pompous, no my post wasn't supposed to be satyrical.
Ah. Right.

Okay...
At the eleventh our (pun intended) Apple will save the day and make watches cool again. Apparently the latest craze is to put a watchstrap on the new iPod Nano...
