Great Britain consists of England, Scotland and Wales (which, unless my ability to count has failed me, only makes three countries).
The nation in which most people on this site reside is the 'United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland' (which makes it clear that Northern Ireland is NOT part of Great Britain!)

Chris, I believe 'Britain' is the same as 'UK' - but not the same as 'Great Britain'. If so, anne is correct. This says the use is 'informal':
