The last Labour government failed to reign in these tax evaders. Now it has been left to the coalition to sort it out and they are having some success.

Does the slogan 'we are all in this together" now ring true?

Tories coming down on tax evasion, yeah right! Doesn't the majority of their money come from this source through their backers?

We're all in this together, yeah right again!
Bono and others like him will just move their money to another tax haven.
Now where to hide.

Under the stairs?
No, that is a bit obvious, how about
don't worry, their back up plan is probably just to ask for the money.
...Belize?
My daughter's boss is now a resident of the Bahamas.....
I wonder why these tax havens are now appearing to co-operate. Criminals and tax evaders have been using these havens for the past century and many of these havens rely on this money to run their economies. So what has changed ? There's got to be a catch somewhere.
// The last Labour government failed to reign in these tax evaders. Now it has been left to the coalition to sort it out and they are having some success. //

Well, the article says they are in talks with 3 tax havens. The only firm deal is one brokered by Labour.

// A deal signed in August 2009 between HM Customs and Excise and Liechtenstein was aimed at targeting £3bn in offshore accounts belonging to 5,000 British taxpayers. //

The Switzerland deal is nothing to shout about. Any NEW accounts will be taxed. The £billions already stashed there will be untouched.

So rather than a great Coalition victory, they are instead taking the credit for a Labour deal and not much else.
