Although I think the idea of the monarchy is totally abhorrent on the purely personal basis of two people getting married I wish them every happiness.
My local radio station is doing a phone-in for people to request royal wedding appropriate songs. A guy has phoned in and they are playing Queen`s Another One Bites the Dust. I`m not quite sure what point he was making!
Best wishes to William and Kate.

The good news is that the Prince is marrying for the right reasons - unike his father did.
I’ve just sat down with a cup of tea and a muffin and thought I’d catch the one o’clock news.

Of course I knew this item would be top of the bill. A couple of minutes maybe, with clips of Wills getting his wings and of Kate going to work and then off to more important matters. But no. It’s still going on (1.22pm).

We’ve had interviews with old university mates. We’ve now got a bloke standing outside RAF Valley where, apparently, Prince William “is based”. Then off to Berkshire where a woman with a microphone is standing at the end of a muddy lane with a police car parked across the entrance. This is to explain how the Middleton’s family life “will change”. And still it goes on.

Now over to George Alafia in Camp Bastion to get the reaction to the news from British troops. (I’m sure they are well pleased. It will change their lot no end).

Oh and now (1.24) for some other news. (Binyan Mohammed being awarded a wheel barrow full of money because we provided a list of questions for the Pakistani born chap to be asked whilst he was being held in the US and Morocco).

It’s a one-liner for heaven sake – “heir to the throne gets engaged” – end of story.

Back to Camp Bastion to interview RSM Mark Ellis who once met Prince William. Back to June Kelley standing outside Buck House to tell us the couple will be giving an interview later.

Viewers wanting to learn more can press the Red Button. There will be a special programme “William & Kate” at 7:30pm tonight.

Where’s Jeremy Kyle?

Sod it, my tea’s gone cold.
I think its lovely, good luck and much happiness to them.

It wouldn't be Britain unless we get more on the civil list for the taxpayer to fork out for. It will also ensure the Windsor dynasty lives on assuming she packs up the partying and retreats to the bedroom.
someone on TV has just said the monarchy costs 35m per year to service but brings in 220m, pick the bones out of that if you may.

TBH I'm looking fwd to my 6 year daughter getting caught up in all the euphoria of a real 'princess' wedding. We'll have a party with the wedding service on TV :-)
Im not a royalist -in fact quite the opposite but I was very happy today taking it to a base level especially with the poignant reference to his Mum and his gesture towards her in her memory.A happy loving couple who have no option but to play it out in the spotlight.I wish them well:)
