Do people think that naming and shaming yobs & printing their pictures in papers and on street boards will deter them? Some will see it as a badge of honour, a claim to fame.

I am sure yu are right Londondave!  In fact I think most of them will see it as 'cool'.  I would rather put them in stocks in the town centre on a Saturday afternoon!

I think ASBO's are a 'horse / stable door' interface. The root of such behaviour lies at home, when children are growing up. Anti-social behaviour is learned behaviour, and if parenting skills in tandem with a proper school discipline system were put in place, the problem would be erradicated, instead of some "Bring it on..." approach by successive governments as a knee-jerk reaction with measures which simply won't work. Teach parents to teach children respect and kindness, discipline them properly, back schools who do the same, and within a generation, society will have changed out of all recognition.

Of course, it's never going to happen, but dreaming about it beats looking at some snotty chav's mug on a bus stop wall.

Totally agree with you Andy.  You know my views on parenting.  However, in the meantime, the stocks might be a good idea.  I would love to throw rotten tomatoes at them................

I have always thought the stocks on a Saturday afternoon was a good idea. A nice big bucket of rotting food stuff laid on and the thugs head nicely held down and let the public or the victim of their crime do a bit of throwing.

Naming and shaming might work for a few but I guess if some are proud of it then there is really no hope for them at all apart from the above just because it would serve them right.

and while we are at it we could stick a few of the bleeding hearts and PC lot in with them.

I actually think it will be a good idea.  At least the locals can identify these mongrels straight away and have no problem giving their names to the Police.

Also, how much street cred is Johnny Chav going to lose when people deface his picture by drawing spectacles, a beard and spots all over his ugly little mug?!! Maybe even a little bit of lipstick and curly hair?!!  A speech bubble with the words 'I am a little w*nker' ought to complete the ensemble, leaving the scrote with his tail between his legs!

But of course, I'd NEVER do that sort of thing to a chav's picture.....................honest!!

The foxes escape persecution, the toffs still have some dumb creatures to hunt, the TV schedulers get another cheap show to air, the chavs get to experience a new pastime and get some much needed exercise, and the rest of us can go about our business in peace. Everyone's a winner!
