Frankie Boyle told a joke about Katie Price's son Harvey on a recent show:

Should CH4 apologise, or is a joke just a joke.

By the way, the link above doesn't contain the joke itself because frankly, it IS tasteless in the extreme...however, the Daily Mail published the joke in their coverage:

everyone has that moment in daily conversation where they want to say whatever thought has entered their mind but first must ask if it is appropriate. even free spirits become entangled in these social constraints. luckily for forensicators, i.e. humorous interpretation performers, these boundaries are somewhat muddied and can be tip-toed, or rushed,...

Chubby Brown makes adult jokes aimed at adults and their behaviour using adult language..............

He singles out people attending his shows and rips the wotsit out of them.....and if they feel they can, they can have a go back.

Not quite the same scenario as that with FB.
Certainly Chubby Brown does to some extent but he also ridicules individuals. The last show I went to see, he took the pee out of about everytone he could think of. Nobody complained to the Daily Mail though, as that sort of humour, while not to everyone's taste, is expected of such a show.
FB isn't really my idea of funny, but if people want to go and listen to him, fine.

Broadcasting it on free terrestrial TV is another matter though. He probably shouldn't have to apologise for his pub 'humour' but Channel 4 might like to consider the wisdom of putting it on everyone's TV sets.
Then I would suggest that they also ban Coronation Street and Eastenders, as I don't like those programmes. If you don't like it, either switch it off or switch it over.
// Simulated Rape Gameshows - who would present them ludwig? //

Frankie Boyle obviously, on channel 4. If you don't like it you don't have to watch.
Surely we WANT to be outraged - after all, how many of you clicked the links and then said "That's outrageous". You were warned that it was shocking and that an apology may be given, but you still clicked the link to view it.

Society huh!
My OH said that there was a warning at the beginning of the programme...
// Is it not a matter of intent.
As poor as the taste may seem, I dont think he revels in taking the p**s out of the disabled. It is his brand of comedy and he has a big following, his intention is to make those who follow him and his brand of humor laugh..? //

Sort of. He doesn't revel in taking the p out of the disabled, he revels in offending as many people as possible, and if taking the p out of the disabled is what he has to do to achieve maximum offense, that's what he does.
i don't want to be outraged. i demand it.
There is a warning saying that it contains adult humour and some may find it offensive. Now everyone who didn't watch the show appears to be up in arms about it because they read about it in the paper. Go figure!
SB- that's like saying anyone can say or do exactly what they want as long as no one sees or hears them doing it.
Nonsense. The warning was clearly given before the show. While I too find the joke unfunny, I see no reason to complain.
like the bear himself then.

/// They didn't need to repeat the joke in order to report on the story ///

You yourself must have thought it essential enough ( and rightly so) to add their link

If they hadn't we would all be wondering what the joke was, so as to make comments on it.

It has also turned your question into a 133 and still going strong, rather than a pathetic couple of dozen one.
"we would all be wondering what the joke was, so as to make comments on it"

exactly, demand to be outraged
i think hes generally very funny...but obviously theres a few jokes that hes taken a bit too far..

i do like weird and near the knuckle humour but i must admit, i understand what he means by the joke but i dont think it is funny at all...its pretty lame
