If the rules have been applied correctly and he's to be deported then he should be deported or the rules should be changed.
You can't just change the rules depending on some sort of media run popularity contest.
The way this sort of thing is going leads me to despair.
Before you know where you are we'll be having phone in votes on who should stay and who should go .

The report says a fued involving his father was the reason he was illegally brought to this country - to put him out of harms way. The country of Pakistan do not want to harm him, it is individuals. Why he could not have been moved to somewhere else in Pakistan is not explained.
If it can be demonstrated that there is a serious threat if he were to be returned, then he should be granted some kind of amnesty should be granted. If no threat can be demonstrated, then he should go back.

I agree with Jake on this one, we can't keep some and deport others on the media's emotional reporting.
He was reported on saying:
/// "I don't really know if they are still there, but as they sent me away to save my life, they've probably gone somewhere else as well, to save theirs." ///
Then why didn't they all keep together, and move as a family?

First of all we do not know if THIS particular person is telling the truth. Although people from various countries use same kind of tactics but because I am originally from Pakistan so I would only talk about that. I really feel bad when people from Pakistan come here due to economical, social and educational problems but to claim asylum they tell lies and give their country (which is already suffering due to corrupt rulers) a bad name. Where I do feel sorry for people as due to the corruption they are helpless and are really suffering and especially youngsters see no future but one thing that I really feel about is that for example this lad is saying that his life is in danger. Today if he is given asylum and permission to stay here permanently then tomorrow he will be flying out to see his family with congratulations. Perhaps they have no other choice.
Sorry forgot to post this bit,
To summarise I believe there should be a reversible asylum system if people, once given permission go to the same place where once they were afraid of going. That will not give bad name to my one home (Pakistan) and my other home (UK) will only have people who were truthful.

There ain't no pleasing some folk, is there?First of all, our immigration authorities fail miserably when things like this happen, i.e. illegal immigrants smuggled into the country. Then, once the authorities DO do something about it, eventually, we have an outcry and petitions raised to try to stop the illegal immigrant being returned to their country. This time it's that old chestnut about how his life would be in danger if repatriated. Says who? The gullible brigade will swallow anything, won't they? He lived there for 14 years without a problem. What's changed?
The vast majority in this country are up in arms out illegal immigration, yet when something positive is announced about one such individual we cave in and decide not to bother after all, for mark my words, this public outcry will once more dissuade the powers that be from doing the duty they're tasked with doing.

Didn't we hear the same sob story from that young girl who was in the X-Factor. Don't we see the same tactics used by those who want children in deportation centres to be released into the community?
We know the process of sending their children in advance and dumping them on British soil has been going on for ages. Is it any different from an English mother dumping their child on social services for them to sort out?
As mentioned above by Keyplus why send the child half way round the world when he could have been sent to another area of Pakistan.
One things for certain if allowed to stay here copycats will increase!
