my daughter was convinced it was someone that Jo knew - apparently in CSI & the like, strangulation is an "up close" type of modus operandi, used by those who are close to the victim.
it didn't surprise me that the landlord had been arrested - after drawing attention to himself by saying he'd seen her leave with two others.
Yes mushroom, my son said it was him for the same reason and before the police arrested him. I thought it was the boyfriend although I realised it was impossible as he had such a solid alibi. Do we all see so many detective series and read so many detective books that we are all amateur detectives.
Let the wheels of justice take their course. His movements and probably some forensics like fingerprints indicate some cause - but it does not mean he is guilty yet.
My mother is one who has condemned him already and would have him hanging off the Clifton Bridge by his testes......And that is wrong (at this time)
he is yet to be charged - let the wheels of justice proceed - think they, the poliz, have to go the beak tomorrow to get an extension and with the NY looming they can then hold him to Monday am before they have to charge or release him.
Until they charge though, patience as to the inevitable 'internet kangaroo court' has to be held back.....
Have they got a motive yet? Hardly sex, as at 65 he must be living on his memories. Maybe he wanted her flat for another lodger and she wouldn't move out? Maybe he objected to her cat pooing all over his flowers?
