It is suspected by the police that Joe was killed either in her own flat or an adjoining one. Why would an intruder break into her flat, murder her, and then days later cart the body 3 miles away to be dumped?

To throw people off the scent? it's not uncommon for bodies to be moved from the scene of the crime. However nobody mentioned before any signs of scuffle at the flat.

^ PS we are assuming therefore that someone broke in, I've not heard of signs of forced entry either - she may have opened the door to someone she already knew.

I think it points to a murderer in her block of flats and maybe thats why the current suspect is on bail.

the landlord said he thought he saw her with another 2 people,he was arrested and paraded as a murder suspect and then released [his life is apparently now in ruins] then hey presto new cctv camera footage is released with the poor girl apparently being followed by 2 people..any witnesses willing to come forward contact bristol police but it just might change your life for good.....

The media, not the Police, are soley responsible for the vast majority of all the conspiracy theories doing the rounds in this sad case. They have latched onto this murder and virtually turned it into a complete soap opera. My wholehearted sympathies are with the victim's family who are being given nil chance of grieving away from the glare of publicity.

The landlord's arrest, for example, was totally publicised by the baying hordes of news stations who have parked themselves outside the property 24/7. Did the Police name the arrested man? No. Did the Police make public the details of his background etc? No. Did the Police speculate about his background, his previous profession, did they paint him as a "dodgy character"? No. Was it the Police who told us that the landlord's cars were taken away to be examined? No. Did the Police let us know that it was the landlord who had been released on Bail? No. Have the Police engaged in non stop speculation about who may have been responsible and why? No. Have the Police insisted on dozens of speculative theories being plastered all over daily rags for the past three weeks? No.

The Police have only appealed to the Public for help, but that has not included unrelenting media pressure for them to catch the killer(s). The irresponsible reporting by these hacks, who alone have virtually turned this case into a media circus, is doing the Police no favours whatsoever. Some murders are never solved and it is grossly irresponsible of the media to heap further pressure on the investigators who are as anxious as anyone to solve the case.

Just try putting yourself in the Police's place: think about that for a moment, then answer honestly if you believe the media are behaving responsibly in all of this. It's almost as if the Police themselves are on trial. Leave them to get on with it.

I admit that I have not really been following the case. But the landlord has been treated badly by, eyethenkyew, the media. They are giving blow by blow every detail about the case.

The Police have a hard job to do on a daily basis, and they seem to get the blame for much that is not their fault, but they really should be left to analyse the evidence and decide who committed this crime.

I think that the statistic is that about 75% of murders are committed by someone known to the victim.

i think the problem lies in expectation. people seem to think that the police can do a csi these days and solve the strangest of crimes neatly within a specified time slot using the super duper fandabbydozey software that only csi has to locate the pubic hair of a louse to specific warehouse in some city thousands of miles from the lab but get there just in time to save the victim.

as said, let the police do their job, and do it properly.

Leave the Old Bill to do their job and wait on their findings. Contrary to popular belief they are actually pretty good when it comes to murder, that is why in the UK it is so high profile.

There is no doubt that we get the media we deserve - and in the case of the UK, it is following the trend of the US media and offering scartemongering and supposition in place of actual facts.

As I mentioned on another thread re. the landlord - having a blue rinse does not make you a murder suspect - otherwise the Mail circulation would be decimated overnight!

Yes the police have a hard job to do and now another 10 detectives have been put on the case which makes 90 in all. The press can prove pretty dogmatic and they also have a job to do.

If the truth was known the police know who the killer is but they need backup forenisic evidence before making a charge. I think most of the population will feel let down when the suspect to be charged has been in the headlights all along. All this talk about other suspects is just a distraction.

You don't need a crowbar in your handbag wolf63 you probably won't have time to get it out. Just use 2 straight pointing fingers aimed at the eye sockets to disable any assailant.
