Im not sure how relevant this is although my cousin in the US (who works for the Senate) is very upset about it -sad anyone gets shot doing their job anyhow:(
Anyone enlighten me?
She has posted a few times on FB and she thought she was dead to start with then has posted to say she is in surgery.
Gun crime is just hellish :(
Her husband is an astronaut.
They just named the gunman on the news, sounds like they shot him but have him in custody. 12 wounded and I think 6 dead. Doesn't sound good for the congresswoman as they are saying she was shot in the head at point blank range.
Dreadful -my cousin is talking an assanination attempt never thought of it that way -not that it matters now.She knew her given her job and living in New Mexico -so ive heard her mentioning her before at different meetings.
Were it here in the UK it would be a horrendous event, but this is what comes of the virtually non existent gun laws in the States where buying a lethal weapon there's as easy as buying a loaf of bread here.
Dreadful? Yes. Regrettable? Certainly. A shock? Definitely not.
I agree -dont know if she sanctioned the gun laws but it wouldnt matter. Its illegal in this country yet its prevelant -indeed name a countyr where gun crime isnt.....
Poor people were just going about their business and a nutter tries to take you out -STOP NUTTERS WITH GUNS -impossible even here :(
Steve, Reagan was shot but was still against tighter gun control. It always seems rather bizarre to me - it's basically in case they want to rise up against the British again - but Switzerland has similar laws
I did mean John Lennon, he died, do you think he was shot because he was maybe an IRA sympathiser? In which case you perhaps are suggesting his killer was justified? Or, I repeat, am I totally (hopefully) misunderstanding you, (I'll just ignore the comment about MLK for now so as not to digress on Dris's thread too much)
