This excerpt is taken from a Telegraph report on the subject "Are White girls easy meat"

/// One other feature in the abuse must be the view, held by a substantial minority of British Muslims, that the Western lifestyle is immoral or degenerate. Only two weeks ago, the East London Mosque, the largest mosque in Britain’s largest Muslim community, held an event condemning “child-rearing in the Western context” as a “social ill”.///

/// This mosque, and many others, has also hosted events condemning music, immodest dress and the wearing of perfume. A young Muslim man brought up on that sort of diet is less likely to treat a white girl in a short skirt with respect.///

If this is the general feeling of Muslims living in this country, what can be done to correct the matter?

Should our females dress more appropriately, so as not to cause offence?

Should the Muslim community accept our culture?

Or can the two cultures never live side by side?

All red blooded blokes love to see a woman dressed provocatively, but it doesn't mean to say we're about to rape them. It just, sort of, gets the taste buds going, doesn't it.

P.S. I won't say where I keep my taste buds!

/// plenty of times ive gone to my fellas after a night out wearing a skirt up my knickerleg and he's had company...no one battered an eyelid.///

All depends on what company your fella was keeping at the time, and whether or not it was a sight worth seeing. :0 )
If you bear in mind that many conservative Muslims dress in a manner which is decent and covered up, the sight of "our" young women flashing so much flesh and inviting sexual comment (whether intentionally or not) does appear decadent - and not only to the Muslim population. I don't see anything attractive myself in a barely-dressed drunken girl shouting comments to boys across the street. Maybe in some instances we need to set our own house in order before condemning the way that others see us - these young women don't appear to respect themselves, let along evoke respect from some of the rest of the population. My father would never have let me leave the house dressed like some young women I know!
To young men brought up to believe that their wives will be virginal and inexperienced, the opportunities must seem laid out on a plate for them.
Please note that I am NOT condoning their behaviour (before anyone shoots me down!) - but just trying to see it from their perspective. Extreme Muslims don't condone rock music, as it inflames the senses, let alone smoking and drinking which dull inhibitions.
Whatever it is, it doesn't excuse the grooming and rape of young women of whatever heritage background.

/// surely you should have said, should females in england or summat of the sort..///

Ooooh! I have been harshly scolded by Ms political correct.

I don't need you to tell me what to say, but by my expression "Our Females" I was referring to the females of "OUR" country, not mine personally, and incidentally they are the females of the United Kingdom, not just England.

Perhaps while we are on corrections, our countries name should begin with a capital letter, as for 'summat', still ploughing through my dictionary of 'Slang Language' for a definition.

/// by that comment you probably just look at how someones dressed rather than the person they are.///

It was you who brought the subject up of how you were dressed.

Why all the aggression?

Let us not forget that Muslims are not the only group to be offended by modern Western customs. There are several Christian groups-more common in the US-such as the Amish,Mennonites,,,and the Plymouth Brethren-who find behaviour we accept as 'normal',to be totally unacceptable, and therefore discourage mixing with the bulk of society.
There will always be men who will see provocatively dressed women as targets.....it is up to the woman to be aware that this is so.

Apologies accepted, but you have made no comment regarding "Our Females".

Regarding different cultures dress code.

Westerners are expected to accept the sight of Muslim women in Burkas, and how do you think 'straight laced Victorians' reacted to women walking about with their breasts exposed, in colonial Africa?
Question Author
Oh and don't say we shouldn't have been in Africa in the first place, because that can work both ways.

I can't help wondering why those who are so very opposed to western culture choose to live here - and it is a choice.

/// why those who are so very opposed to western culture choose to live here ///

That is a good question, that I would like to see some answers to.
I’m actually very troubled by the sight of young women walking around covered from head to foot in flowing robes and, most particularly, with their faces covered. I actually find it extremely offensive.

But that’s life. Live and let live. I just have to look away. What I do not expect, even bearing in mind that many of these young ladies may be newcomers to the UK (where I and my ancestors have lived for as far back as I can trace) is for them to modify their behaviour to satisfy my sensitivities. And neither should they, or their menfolk or their community “elders” expect other people to modify their behaviour to suit them.

Whenever a “ban the burqua” issue is raised, it is always suggested that the State has no right interfering in the way people dress. And that must work both ways.

So, to answer your questions, AOG:

No.

Yes.

Unlikely.
done to correct the matter?

This is perhaps the wrong forum to pose the question, because as far as I can tell - there's only on Muslim whose posts I've seen on the News section of AB.

Should our females dress more appropriately, so as not to cause offence?

No. And furthermore, if a woman wants to dress like Julie Andrews or Jordan it should be her choice and her choice alone.

Should the Muslim community accept our culture?

Yes, and they do. Anyone who says differently should get themselves a few Muslim mates rather than relying on reports from the press.

Or can the two cultures never live side by side?

Yes. Absolutely. If Protestants and Catholics can work out their differences so can Muslims and non-Muslims.

Muslims and Jews however - that's a different kettle of gefilte fish.
Ignore the first sentence in my post - cut 'n' paste error.
