Sorry jth, I was merely underscoring the fact that Muslims would find it intolerable and would create a fuss about two gays wanting to share a bed at their hotel. I certainly find it hard to believe that there is no law to protect hotel/guest house owners who have already made it clear that they are practicing Christians.
At the very least I would make any unwelcome visitors stay very uncomfortable.
....or abused as in this case

And yeah, I agree - it would be interesting...but the weird thing is...it just seems to be the Christians who have a problem with it in this country.

From my own observations, with the Muslims I know, they seem more curious about 'the gay thing' than Christians. They have a much greater sense if live and let live (along the lines of "whatever floats your boat mate")...

But the Christians...blimey - they're thrusting Bibles at you and quoting from Revelations.

Odd isn't it? They literally cannot shut up!

What or who was abused, joeluke ?

Oh, and facts if you please, rather than speculation.

AYG - There is absolutely nothing whatsoever preventing practising religionists running guesthouses...........but it must be *within* the law.
Why should they be given a special dispensation for operating outside any law you or I would have to follow ?
Myself and a male friend have been refused service in a gay bar in London......they didn't refuse to serve us, they just totally ignored us.

It WILL happen one day (a Muslim guest house refusing entry to a gay couple), but the number of Muslim-run B&Bs in the UK is relatively small.
You're flogging a dead horse Jack....
Question Author
That's not uncommon, craft..........but has more to do with the attitude of the staff behind the bar than a blanket policy.

Mrs jth and I struggle to get served in male gay bars......
I don't complain if we book in somewhere and they give us twin beds, should I moan because they are going against our conjugal rights?
But surely that's wrong jack.....and the staff should reflect the policies of the owners.
Course not Boxy, You do what we do - and politely request a different room. ;o)
Question Author
The guys behind the bar tend to be on the look-out for the best-looking customer to serve/flirt with..........it's irritating but true.

If you complain to the management, you'll find that the staff get a quick word in their ear.........it tends not to have had any positive impact on the speed with which we get served, though :o)
I would love to be given twin beds :-(

Seems some can have special dispensation

In several parts of the world, Sikh riders are exempted from wearing a crash helmet when riding a motorcycle, which cannot be done without removing the turban. These places include India, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the Canadian provinces of British Columbia and Manitoba

Do you think that you could possibly stick to the issues raised in my original post ?

Thanks.
I'd rather fill my face with rolo yougurt thingy... You know, I don't understant why I get told off for not taking things seriously.

(If you can't work within the law then change your job. You open your house up, it's a job... Tough titties to your beliefs and suck it up... For what of a better phrase of course ;0).
Tip for Christian B&B owners

When faced with this situation in future, refuse the gays a room by claiming that they turned up blind drunk

Your word against theirs in a court of law then

Problem solved
Question Author
joeluke - correct.

But then they would be *lying* Christians............tut tut.
Is it legal to discriminate against drunks?
Just like the lying gays who don't disclose that they are booking a B&B room for 2 men then huh?
