Things don't look too good in Egypt, especially when it could affect that all important international shipping route, The Suez Canal.

Hearing that the Unions in this country are soon to organise mass demonstrations against the Government's cuts made me wonder, France are not slow in taking to the streets, we have recently see the riots in Tunisia, and now the riots in Egypt.

Is it the ethnic identity of the peoples of these countries, that make them react so violently, and if so taking into account the alteration in our ethnicity due to the huge influx of foreign nations to this country, could the once easy laid back and tolerant attitude of the British people change?

/// AOG - You do insult people who disagree with your views.

How can you say that when the insults etc start from others, even when I have not yet had the opportunity to answer their opposing view?

They will even add them when I have not even been involved in a question

/// You often question their intelligence and speak down to them like they are imbeciles..///

That sounds as if one has an inferior complex, see the ED for my psychiatrist's phone number.

.
aog, to rage and mock is gentlemanly, to grumble and whine is not.
What's an inferior complex? a complex that isn't as good as other complexes?

Or did you maybe mean an inferiority complex?
Chuck, my complexes aren't nearly as good as other people's. In fact they're hardly complexes at all, more like simples. I worry about it a lot.

Yes I did notice it, and I appreciate you first pointing it out, I just thought it an ideal passage to set to the ED regarding 'slinging mud'.

Once again I thank you, at times like this I need all the support I can get.

Makes one wonder if it is all worth while, when after all it is only a leisure activity, If I was getting paid I could chuck it in, but I won't let the likes of these run me off, I am made of much more Sterling stuff than that..

Ba, Ba, Ba

'The big bad wolf will get you'.
The riots superficially may be about cuts but underneath they are not. They are about overthrowing a "reasonably benign" dictator. The worrying thing is that Yemen looks like going the same way.

How much of this is being stirred up by Arabic fundamentalists (Taliban?) and sponsored by extreme Wahibis or the Iranians...........??

Tunisia is one of the most heavily subsidised countries in the world (through France) and even more than Scotland! It has been politically very important to the EEC as a haven of 'peace' between the once unstable Libya and the unstable Algeria...... Having Egypt and Yemen screwed up as well could seriously threaten Levant stability, never mind what is happening as to the Sudan.

Lastly, the Suez is not as important as it used to be as the really big container ships and oil tankers can not get through it. Many of them are now 'superspeed' and can get all the way around the Cape of Good Hope from India to Europe inside 3 weeks, and the economics of their cargo size make it fame more gainful than breaking cargoes into smaller lots and going the shorter distance.

That was not appertaining to you Doc, only to those who possess just enough brain cells, so as to be able to do no other than follow the flock.

I've stuck up for you enough times AOG and your right to post what you like. Recently though it's just become same old same old. People address your post/question/statement and you address them...not the topic or the points they raise.
