Doesn't seem that much religious based activity going on at the moment.
The checkpoints seem orderly and there's no obvious religious leader for anything to form around.
The big player seems to be the Army - not religion.
They seem respected (unlike the police) what they decide to do will be crucial.
Interestingly enough if you were listening to Radio 4 this morning you would have heard that in responses to the attacks on Coptic churches in December a call went out from mosques to "let our Christian brothers celebrate Christmas in peace"
In response to that thousands of muslim Egyptians turned up at churches on January 7th (Christmas day for the Coptic church) to protect Christians.
This doesn't sound like a country about to about to collapse into Theocracy to me
