With this ridicules and offensive explanation of why some people are gay, coming from 'Ground Zero' mosque's new imam Abdallah Adhami.

Will it now further Anti-Muslim feelings even more, especially taking into account that a large proportion of people were against the Mosque being built on the site of the 9/11 atrocity in the first place?

Actually, in fairness, shame on the Mail. What a inciteful (and I know that isn't a generally accepted word - but it ought to be) article!! Having said that the Iman is not fit to teach anyone. His ignorance is absolutely appalling!
